Description
A proven performer since the late 1930s, paper-insulated, fluid-filled cable has been constantly refined to deliver high voltages in a host of environments, including underground, tunnels, shafts, and deep ocean depths. A tube-like stranded copper or aluminum conductor carries fluid under pressure which permeates the surrounding paper layers to ensure uniform conductivity. Various metal sheaths prevent water penetration, with a polyethylene jacket for outer protection in underground applications. Their proven characteristics:
- Excellent electrical qualities
- Proven reliability at very high voltages
- A homogeneous insulation system ensured by fluid-impregnated paper
- Custom-designed for tough environments
